In an effort to improve business and trade relations between their two countries, Spain and Portugal have agreed to end roaming charges when traveling from Spain to Portugal, and vice versa.
The EU has been trying to limit roaming charges as much as possible, which shouldn’t be much of an issue considering there are only a handful of wireless providers for the whole of Europe. Perhaps this will serve as an example to the rest of Europe to make similar partnerships.
Nothing is set in stone at this point, so roaming charges between the two countries are still in effect. Hopefully this will be enacted quickly, and that other countries will follow suit.
